Bonds Magazine Launch
Hello Friend!
We are over-the-moon excited to announce the launch of Bonds Magazine. Over the past months we have been collaborating, creating, and now birthing this platform for women to share their stories.
During a party (pre-pandemic), the idea of creating a space that celebrated our Bonds was conceived, inspired by a room full of individuals from all walks of life that were deeply connecting with one another (a sharp contrast to the great political divisions felt around the country). Not long after the party, the pandemic hit - and suddenly our ability to connect with one another became severely altered.
It was during this time that we unexpectedly began to work more closely together and soon started to bond over our cooking adventures (aka, Emily just wanting to eat everything Sylwia makes), our adoration of Kripalu, podcast, book and movie recommendations (if you are interested, we will happily send you a very long list) and tarot card readings. In part inspired by this kinship, the re-considering our means of connection, and the immense value of our female friendships, the concept of Bonds Magazine was further clarified.
A few Sunday morning brainstorming sessions quickly escalated to countless google docs, texts, emails and calls of excitement, trepidation, inspiration, all of it! An “aha moment” occurred as we read Elizabeth Lesser’s most recent book, Cassandra Speaks, in tandem. Elizabeth examines the stories the world has been told about women for centuries, and how we carry these stories within us - the story of Eve, of Pandora, of Cassandra. With Elizabeth’s reimagining of the stories, told from the woman’s point-of-view, everything shifts. Fueled by the desire to read more stories by women, we scoured the internet for platforms dedicated exclusively to lifting the voices of women, and we found none.
We want to be that platform.
As we built our site and began writing our own stories, we talked about how incredible it would be to have the chance to interview Elizabeth Lesser. So, with nothing to lose, we sent an email. And. She. Emailed. Back.

In addition to interviews with women we are awed by, Bonds will feature powerful and empowering stories submitted to us by women - stories of struggle, triumph, friendship, motherhood, pain and passion, answers by coaches for difficult questions, and recommendations of our favorite things created by women.
We have big plans for Bonds and we would love for you to join us on this journey. We are committed to creating a community where women’s voices are elevated, where there is unlimited space for our stories to be told and listened to, where we find strength in ourselves and celebrate strength in others.
